About the Position:

The Technology Manager will oversee and mentor the technology team, encouraging high-performance and collaborative work environment. This role requires expertise in software development, GIS management, and system integration to drive innovation in technology solutions. Key responsibilities include developing a technology roadmap aligned with company objectives, deploying precision agriculture tools, and integrating GIS with other platforms. Additionally, the role involves setting team goals, conducting performance evaluations, and implementing best practices in software development to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.

Key responsibilities & accountabilities:

    We are looking for a dynamic and motivated manager who will be based in Hubballi, Karnataka and play a significant role in building the Deshpande Skilling’s platform of the future. This role will require you to:
  • Team Leadership & Development – Oversee, mentor, and manage the technology team, fostering a culture of collaboration and high performance.
  • Project Planning & Execution – Strategize and oversee the implementation of technology projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
  • Performance Management – Define performance objectives, conduct regular performance evaluations, and provide constructive feedback.
  • Technology Roadmap Development – Design a technology roadmap for technology initiatives, aligning with organizational goals.
  • Software Development Best Practices – Ensure the adoption of agile methodologies, version control, and continuous integration for optimal software development.
  • Tech-driven solutions – Develop tech-driven solutions for agriculture programs of the organization

Key Competency and skills

  • Proficiency in popular programming languages, data structures, and cloud computing.
  • Expertise in MIS and database management systems for efficient data handling.
  • Ability to lead teams of programmers, analysts, and specialists to successfully deliver complex projects.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to tackle challenges and drive projects to completion.
  • Skilled in writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code following industry standards.
  • Knowledge of emerging software development trends to enhance existing applications and systems.
  • Ability to conduct spatial modeling and analysis to support data- driven agricultural decision-making.
  • Experience in integrating GIS with other technology platforms to improve data sharing and functionality.
  • Hands-on experience in designing and implementing technology- driven solutions for improved productivity.
  • Ability to assess and recommend innovative agricultural technologies for better crop yield and resource management.
  • Expertise in integrating technology systems with existing infrastructure to optimize efficiency and operations.
